We’ve all been there—you need an activity fast. Maybe plans changed, maybe you just got put in charge (surprise!), or maybe life happened, and now you’re scrambling for something meaningful and fun.
Don’t worry—I got you! 🙌
The 2025 Youth Theme, “Look Unto Christ”, is packed with powerful inspiration from Doctrine and Covenants 6:36:
“Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.”
So, let’s turn this into an unforgettable activity—even if you only have a few minutes to prepare! Here are some creative, engaging, and totally doable last-minute activity ideas for your youth.
1. Scripture Scavenger Hunt: Seek and Find 🕵️♂️📖
This one is super easy to set up and gets youth moving!
🔹 Write down scriptures or quotes about looking to Christ. (Need ideas? Try Isaiah 41:10, Matthew 14:30-31, Alma 37:6.)
🔹 Hide them around your meeting space.
🔹 Split youth into teams and send them on a scripture scavenger hunt!
After they find the scriptures, gather up and discuss them. Bonus points if the final clue leads them to a picture of Christ as the ultimate answer! ❤️
2. “Doubt Not, Fear Not” Obstacle Course 🎯🚀
Trusting in Christ means moving forward, even when we don’t know the way. So why not turn that into an epic obstacle course?
🔹 Set up a course with chairs, cones, or anything you have on hand.
🔹 Have one person blindfolded while their teammate guides them with only their voice.
🔹 Relate this to how we trust in Christ when life gets tricky.
(Also, watching blindfolded teens try to navigate obstacles is hilarious and guaranteed to get some laughs!) 😂
3. “Through His Eyes” Challenge 👀💛
Jesus saw people differently—with love, compassion, and endless potential. Let’s help our youth do the same!
🔹 Present real-life scenarios: A classmate sitting alone at lunch. A friend struggling with stress. A family member who seems distant.
🔹 Ask: “How would Christ see this person?”
🔹 Discuss how we can be His hands in everyday situations.
It’s a powerful reminder that when we look to Christ, we start seeing others through His eyes.
4. Testimony Wall: “Where Have You Seen Christ?” ✍️✨
This one is super simple but really impactful.
🔹 Give each youth a sticky note.
🔹 Have them write a time they saw Christ in their life.
🔹 Stick them on a wall in the shape of a cross or a lighthouse.
Read some aloud and watch the Spirit fill the room! 🙌
5. “Fix Your Eyes on Christ” Balloon Race 🎈🏃♂️
Want something active and symbolic? Try this!
🔹 Each person balances a balloon on a spoon while walking toward a picture of Christ.
🔹 The catch? If they look away, they have to start over!
🔹 Talk about how distractions (fear, doubt, social media 😜) can pull us away from Christ.
It’s fun, competitive, and actually makes a great object lesson!
6. “Fear Not” Freeze Tag ❄️💨
This is like regular freeze tag, but with a faith-filled twist!
🔹 Designate some players as “fears” and some as “faith.”
🔹 If a “fear” tags you, you freeze.
🔹 A “faith” person can unfreeze you by saying, “Doubt not, fear not!”
Afterward, talk about how faith helps us break free from fear. (And let’s be honest, it’s just fun running around and tagging people!)
7. Mirror Object Lesson: “Looking to Christ” 🪞🔄
Want something deep but easy to set up? Try this:
🔹 Give each youth a small mirror.
🔹 Have them try to walk toward an object while only looking in the mirror.
🔹 Spoiler: It’s super hard!
🔹 Discuss how keeping our eyes on Christ helps us move in the right direction.
Simple, effective, and a great conversation starter!
8. “Christ in My Life” Photo Challenge 📸✨
Teenagers love their phones, so let’s put them to good use!
🔹 Challenge youth to find or take photos that represent how they see Christ in their life.
🔹 Create a collage or slideshow of their images.
🔹 Share testimonies about where they’ve seen Him.
This activity is so powerful because it helps them see Christ in the everyday moments.
9. “Look Unto Him” Journaling Night 📝🎶
Sometimes, the best activities are quiet and personal.
🔹 Hand out journals.
🔹 Play soft instrumental music.
🔹 Ask them to write: “When have I looked to Christ? How can I trust Him more?”
It’s simple but creates a space for personal revelation—something our youth need!
10. Music & Testimony Night 🎶🙏
If you really need something last minute, this is always a winner!
🔹 Sing youth theme songs (Come Unto Christ, I Feel My Savior’s Love, etc.).
🔹 Invite youth to share testimonies or experiences about looking to Christ.
🔹 Close with a prayer and let the Spirit do the rest.
It’s low-prep but high-impact!
Final Thoughts ✨
No matter which activity you choose, the goal is simple: Help youth look to Christ in a real, personal way.
So don’t stress—just have fun, invite the Spirit, and make it meaningful.
(And if you do pull off one of these activities last-minute, I won’t tell. 😉)
